When Art Should Imitate Life

My husband and I are big fans of the show Landman. Full disclosure, we watch a lot of shows. It’s our unwind, our pause, our end-of-day ritual.

What really struck us about Landman wasn’t just the storytelling, it was the people. Every character is likable. And that almost never happens.

There’s complexity, strength, flaws, humor & heart. But underneath it all, there’s humanity. You find yourself rooting for everyone.

Then my daughter-in-law Haley said something that stuck with me, she said: It shows you can be beautiful and still kind.

Yes. 100% H.

Kindness doesn’t require Perfection. It doesn't require an Ivy League Education It doesn’t ask for Grand Gestures or Dramatic Moments. It shows up in how We Speak, how We Listen, how We Treat People when No One is Watching.

It doesn’t take much to be kind.

And honestly, it should be human nature.

If art really does imitate life, maybe this is the reminder we all need.

Let’s choose kind Every time. 💛 xo, M
