Being Present Is the Gift!

There are 1,440 minutes in a day.
The email can wait. The text isn’t going anywhere. The Instagram post will still be there.
But this moment? This moment is fleeting.
We are all busy. Our minds run 24/7, pulling us in a hundred different directions. But we cannot let busyness erase presence.
I’m just as guilty of this as anyone. That’s why I’ve started being more intentional. I try not to answer the phone if I know I’ll be distracted. I don’t make a call unless I can sit in a quiet space and give my full attention to the person on the other end.
That, to me, is a gift. A gift to them… and just as much, a gift to myself.
I read something recently during a B4 challenge that really stayed with me: “If you aren’t staying in the moment, you are leaving it.”
Let that sink in for a second.
When we stay present, we give ourselves the chance to actually experience our lives, not just move through them. Even the smallest moments become something we can feel, appreciate, and remember.
Listening. Thoughtfulness. Mindfulness.
These are practices. They are skills. And like anything meaningful, they don’t always come easily.
But they are always worth it.
