What do you do when you don’t feel like working out?

Okay, well, that question depends on a few factors for me… How much have I already worked out that week? Where is my state of mind at this moment? Do I feel like I could give 100% of my focus to a workout?

When I don’t feel like I have a workout in me, but I need to move in some way, I have a few go-tos:

#1 = A Power Walk: This is where I can pop on headphones (yes, I prefer corded headphones) and lose myself in my music and thoughts. I can breathe in everything around me, without giving much thought to what I’m doing.

#2= A Stretch Class: Giving my body the movement and love it deserves. I have said this many times before: we ask so much of our bodies, and we often don’t repay it. Think longevity when you think stretch. Your mind will thank you as well as your body!

#3= A Pilates Class: Last but Not Least! Pilates has a way of sneaking up on you with a great workout. It is calming, nurturing, and beneficial in so many ways. (If you'd like to hear more about the benefits of Pilates, hop over to my Podcast and watch/listen to: “You can lead a horse to water”)

#4= Take the day off! It’s okay to give yourself permission to skip a workout. Believe me, you will come back even stronger. And if your mind and body aren’t into it on any given day, you’d just be wasting your time.

Sometimes a power walk clears the noise.

Sometimes a stretch gives your body the soft yes it needs.

Sometimes Pilates surprises you with quiet strength.

And sometimes, doing nothing is the most honest choice.

That last one, permission to rest, is what keeps the fire from burning out. You’re still in the game even when you’re not “crushing” it.

Cheers to staying Happy, Healthy & Fit B4 Babes! xo, M
